Piano EQ and Compression

Are you using EQ and compression to take your piano recordings to the next level? 🎚️

In this Patreon exclusive video I go over a students piano recording with EQ and compression. The student was improvising on an acoustic piano, so the recording has a lot of room sound. First we temper that room sound to make the piano clearer, then we add a bit of character 🔉

EQ and compression are the fundamental tools in a mixing artists arsenal, besides volume. You can actually achieve so much with just these 2. Remember this, as it's tempting to add lots of fancy plug-ins that have a big effect on the sound. However, less is often so much more 🪶

Not so much of a tutorial today, will aim for a more instructive and DIY kind of video next week. If you have any questions or comments on this subject, let me know in the comments 💬

Stay tuned for the next one and thank you for watching this one 🙏
