Some of the most recognisable and lovable music of all time comes from video games. Mario, Zelda, Halo, Skyrim, Minecraft, Undertale… From retro classics, to epic scores, to modern indie, we love the music from games of all eras.
We’re representing the UK in the global community of video game themed bands and music communities. Musicians around the world are bringing countless new songs from games, into the jazz repertoire and we’re proud to be a part of it.
After the start of the UK’s first Video Game Music Jam Session in Jan 2024, 4 Brighton based musicians started B-Side Quest. We’re kicking up a fuss over those underrated and legendary tunes, that encompassed the music experiences of so many childhoods.
Chopping, changing, highlighting, referencing, transforming and ultimately celebrating the timeless melodies of video games, in the style of Jazz, Blues and Contemporary Fusion. We like busting out bossa nova grooves, dreaming up ambient ballads and hammering down on some hard-hitting polyrhythmic power chords.

We have just begun our epic voyage. 4 Musicians hailing from Brighton, UK, on a mission to spread the love and awareness of the timeless melodies. Songs many of us grew up with, yet few pay tribute to.
Our current activities include attending regular jam events hosted by us in collaboration with local partners. We’re really excited to be bringing together audiences young and old, tapping into various genres and developing the UK’s fierciest VGM arrangements ever.
